Day 1

Factory tour, off-road and The Cavern Club

Morning: Travel by train to Liverpool Lime Street station. You’ll be met by one of our friendly and experienced trip directors. Travel by Land Rover to the Land Rover Experience Halewood. Enjoy a welcome drink in the purpose-built visitor centre and an introduction from your expert guide. You then travel the short distance across to the main manufacturing plant where the models are made. Your exclusive factory tour takes you through every stage of the fascinating assembly process, revealing how a roll of steel is transformed into a Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport. A highlight is watching the army of robots at work, welding, sealing and riveting. With the vehicles now taking shape, you’ll see where the glazing, engine-fit, interiors and quality control take place. It’s a remarkable experience.

Lunch: You return to the visitor centre for lunch. There’s a choice of pre-booked menu options from a simple sandwich to an extensive buffet meal.

Afternoon: After lunch it’s time for what is undoubtedly the highlight of the day, getting behind the wheel of one of the latest Land Rover models and going off-road. Under the guidance of one of Land Rover’s professional and highly skilled instructors, you’ll develop and improve your driving skills. The purpose-built course has been designed to showcase the outstanding capability of each vehicle with steep slopes, slippery surfaces and other challenging obstacles, including Rock River Bed and the Giants Causeway.

Your off-road experience complete, you’ll be transferred to your 4* hotel in the centre of Liverpool with time to relax before dinner at the hotel.

Evening: After dinner, you’ll be taken to the famous Cavern Club in Mathew Street. Experience the true ‘home’ of The Beatles with a drinks reception and private party.

Day 2

Magical Mystery Tour and The Beatles Story

Morning: This morning we head for Albert Dock to embark on a Magical Mystery Tour, a two-hour voyage of discovery that reveals the Liverpool of The Beatles. You’ll see all the places associated with John, Paul, George and Ringo as they grew up, met and formed the band that would take the pop world by storm. You’ll see their childhood homes, schools and colleges and get up close to places that inspired some of their most memorable songs, including Penny Lane and Strawberry Field. On the way there’ll be plenty of opportunities for photos and selfies!

Lunch: We take an early lunch at one of the many restaurants on Albert Dock.

Afternoon: You’ll then visit ‘The Beatles Story’, the world’s largest permanent exhibition purely devoted to the lives and times of the ‘Fab Four’. There’s free time for you to explore more of Albert Dock, perhaps take a ‘ferry ‘cross the Mersey’ or indulge in some retail therapy at Liverpool ONE, the city’s newest shopping destination. You’ll then return to Lime Street station for your train home.

Suggested Hotels

Titanic Hotel ****

Located at Liverpool’s Stanley Dock, two miles north of the city centre, the Titanic Hotel is a former warehouse. It’s fresh and distinctive, with spacious, smartly styled rooms. There’s free high-speed Wi-Fi and a spa area (additional charge). Stanley’s Bar & Grill is popular with both residents and locals alike. The hotel is a key element of the £130m redevelopment of this part of Liverpool’s docks. Directly across from the hotel stands the mammoth, abandoned 14-storey Tobacco Warehouse, reportedly made of 27 million bricks and at one time the largest brick-built building in the world!

Hard Day’s Night Hotel ****

Described as being a ‘Fab Four’ star Liverpool hotel, the Hard Day’s Night Hotel is the world’s only Beatles-inspired hotel.  It combines high quality facilities in a truly unique environment.  Located at the heart of Liverpool’s ‘Beatles Quarter’, just a few steps from Mathew Street and the Cavern Club, it offers luxurious accommodation in a converted Grade II listed building.  Specially commissioned artwork and selected pieces of memorabilia combine to offer an altogether unique and unusual experience.
